Dannii Minogue's new comeback with a compilation... :(

I have just learned that Danni Minogue was going to come back with a brand new CD on 23rd of August, but it will only be with a new compilation album, This is it : the very best of, which will include only one single unreleased new track... :( Better than nothing I suppose but she's really a lazy people !! Her last studio albums is Neon nights from... 2003 ! Since then, she has only released compilations or revamped deluxe re-releases, or unreleased/demos compilations (Unleashed, The 1995 Sessions, The early years)... that I have all bought, and I will undoubtly buy this new one too, but come on, Dannii, make yourself a real recording deal with Warner for a full new studio album made of 100% hitsingle potential tracks and give it to us ASAP ! We need it... I Need it ! The whole world needs it !

This fourth Best of collection (The Singles in 1998, The Hits & Beyond in 2006, and Club Disco in 2007) covers all her carrier in chronological order and finishes with her duet with sister Kylie of 2008, The winner takes it all that appeared on the TV series Beautiful People soundtrack, and 'Coz you're beautiful, a new song penned with a spanish star in the making she coached on X-Factor. The CD version forgets 3 singles, This is the way, Get into you and Touch me like that to end at 21 tracks and it's a shame, especially the latter, which deserved its place over Show me the way to go if you ask me... But the digital version offers all 24 singles, except this tracklisting still forgets some singles : Love's on every corner, Everlasting night, Come and get it and I can't sleep at night as well as the two collaborations with Eurogroove... The cover artwork looks like it is in fact a low-budget compilation so I didn't expect to see hard licensing nor full completist tracklisting so all in all, it's not that bad I suppose !

06. Si maman si
07. Besoin d’amour
08. Résiste
09. Diego (avec Chjami Aghljalesi)
10. Ella, elle l’a
11. Evidemment
12. Ma déclaration

Zillions of new CDs for Christmas rush...

Christmas times are coming soon and the end of the year's rush release schedule is over booked in my own lil' music world : too many releases that interest me so some I will postpone the buying and others I will not be able to do without as soon as they get released ; just see for yourself :

22/10

DELTA GOODREM Children Of The Universe
We've waited for her fourth album since 2008 and I've liked her latest single so I may buy it on australian import, I suppose
LAWSON Chapman Square
new english boysband that sounds just as good as The Wanted's first album, solid pop/rock with dance appeal
LEMAR Invincible
my CD is already on its delivery way; the first single was so damn good, despite a low chart placing in the UK, that I've bought it with eyes closed
THE OVERTONES  Higher
The quintet has just released his second album of vocal harmonies mixed with retro pop

29/10

CALVIN HARRIS 18 Months
good singles but I'm not sure about a full album yet
KYLIE MINOGUE The Abbey Road Sessions
I CAN'T WAIT !!!! all her hits in strings/orchestral new versions... the only question is which version shall I buy and from where ? the Australian and Japanese Cds will have one different bonus track... but they may be a lot more expensive than the standard international one...
MATT CARDLE The Fire
That UK X-Factor man has spread his wings and fly now away from the SyCo standards : I'll check how it sounds before thinking of buying it for sure...
NE-YO R.E.D.
That man has good singles and knows how to write a song but I don't own a full album by him. This new one is said to be a sort of piece of art : I'll check it first !
PETER ANDRE Angels & Demons
I can't believe this man still releases music : I'll check it for a laugh but really doubt to buy it. I don't even remember why I have bought two Cds of him : Ah Yes, he used to work with Phil Harding & Ian Curnow of their PWL fame...
SANDRA Stay In Touch
Comeback of the century : the german songstress releases good ol' fashioned pop made by Blank & Jones that should sound as if it was 1988 again ...I can't wait !

2 or 5/11

ANASTACIA It's A Man's World
an album of male cover versions produced by Glen Ballard... i'm afraid she'll have too much testosterone in her voice for me on that one. I'd rather wait for her next forthcoming album of new material, scheduled for 2013...
BRIAN McFADDEN The Irish Connection
I have adored his third electro/pop album but that ex-Westlife boy seems to have gone back to pop/rock music... Have to check it first...
CELINE DION Sans attendre
it's been a long time our beloved Celine hasn't released some CD in french so I guess I'll buy it, listen to it and then give it to my mom :)
CIRCUS Circus
The new group of Calogero with Stanislas & Co should release his longplayer including some writing work from none other than Jean-Jacques Goldman...
JLS Evolutionthe X-Factor boys seem to have gone back to their R&B/soul roots : i'm afraid without the pop/dance appeal, they'll not win my buy but the single Hottest girl in the world is addictive though ; I'll have to check it to be sure : I own their 3 previous CDs...
ROBBIE WILLIAMS Take The Crown
I can't help myself : even if Robbie's music is not one I listen a lot : I'll buy it as I've done with all his studio albums : I like the man behind the artist and there's always enough good hits on each of his records to be worth the buy

12/11

CHRISTINA AGUILERA Lotus
The first single and cover artwork are enough to win my pennies on her comeback album ; I hope I won't be deceived as I've been with Bionic...
ONE DIRECTION Take Me Home
The boysband phenomenum irrites me but the boys sing good entertaining upbeat tunes so I guess I'll buy it when i see it at a nice price...
STEPS Light Up The WorldThe UK superstar band has reunited and they'll get my support, even if it's a Christmas themed album... the first single doesn't sound that festive after all : I only hope all the tracks are not ballads...
WHITNEY HOUSTON I Will Always Love You : The Best OfI already have one of her previous Greatest Hits collection, but just for one new unreleased song and the beautigul & magnificent cover, I'll buy this !

19/11

GENERATION GOLDMAN
a compilation tribute album to the songs by Jean-Jacques Goldman of the 80's sung by the boys & girls of the new singin' generation : I will sure not miss this opportunity and buy it ASAP !
GIRLS ALOUD Ten
With one crazy new single and three more new songs on it, this new Greatest Hits from the UK greatest girlsband since the Spice Girls is sure to have my vote !
KELLY CLARKSON Greatest Hits : Chapter 1
This first US pop Idol star isn't big here in France but she's recorded some great tunes and a Best Of is just what I need to have her in my CDtheque
LITTLE MIX DNA
this new UK girlsband from last X-Factor season sounds like Girls Aloud lil' sisters so I'll first lend an ear then maybe buy it
STOOSHE Stooshe
another Uk new girls band, more street/R&B maybe for my tastes, but their cover versions of TLC's Waterfall is great and brings back good memories so maybe I'll buy it if it's cheap and nice after checkin' it

26/11
ALICIA KEYS Girl On Fire
I am not a fan but wanted to talk about it as she is a good singer
OLLY MURS Right Place Right Time
Another UK X-Factor boy with his third album : I'll check if it's more to my tastes than his last one : I like his attitude and swing but it lacks some more dance/pop to really get me

3/12
KE$HA Warrior
I hope she hasn't gone too rocky so I may still buy it when it gets a re-release with added bonus tracks, as always...
MYLENE FARMER Monkey Me
I have already made an appointment with myself to go buy it straight after work on its day of release, for sure !!!!

Add to this already busy release schedule albums that have already been released in their nordik home countries but can be expected soon on an international level, or else, I'll grab them on import :
AGNES Veritas
ALPHABEAT Express Non Stop
LOREEN Heal

And I don't even mention Taylor Swift's Red, Nolwenn Leroy, Patricia Kaas, Kaas Chante PiafJohnny Hallyday or Susan Boyle's fourth album, Standing ovation, similar in concept to MELANIE C's latest Stages musicals cover versions... ALIZÉE's 5th album has been postponed to be released in 2013 and a new AMEL BENT album should come one day or another too...

What would be your best wish to find under the Christmas tree ? If I'd have to pick just one, it'll be really hard...

01All The Lovers
02On A Night Like This
03Better The Devil You Know
04Hand On Your Heart
05I Believe In You
06Come Into My World
07Finer Feelings
08Confide In Me
09Slow
10The Locomotion
11Can't Get You Out Of My Head
12Where The Wild Roses Grow
13Flower
14I Should Be So Lucky
15Love At First Sight
16
Never Too Late

Si Kylie avait déjà pris l'habitude de ré-interpréter downtompo ses anciens hits en concert, façon piano-bar jazzy, il ne manque finalement à mon bonheur que Wouldn't change a thing ou encore Bury me deep with love que j'aurais adorer entendre ré-enregistrés. I should be so lucky, I believe in you ou Better the devil you know existent déjà en version de ce style donc on sait à quoi s'attendre, et même si je n'aurais pas apprécié de la même manière un album de reprises jazzy s'il s'était s'agit de titres oldschool que je n'aime pas forcément, là, basé sur les titres les plus forts de son répertoire, je n'ai aucun doute et sais que je vais ADORER ce concept album sensé clôturer en apothéose cette année 2012 célébrant les 25 ans de carrière de Kylie, avant qu'un nouvel album studio "pop" suive en 2013.

Teaser vids for new unreleased SAW songs by Samantha Fox...

From the vaults of PWL Studios and included on the latest Cherry Pop re-mastered Deluxe Editions of Samantha Fox's Just One Night album : two unreleased SAW produced (finished in 2012 by Matt Pop) That's what love can do and A second chance : HEAVEN is here ! ...and soon in my post :)

Another retro PWL single sensation from SAW fan Spencer !

I have first featured Spencer's tribute work on my blog a couple of years ago, when I have bought his first album What have I done that includes cover versions of Jason Donovan's Stock/Aitken/Waterman songs When I get you alone and She's in love with you as well as Erasure's Oh l'amour or Belvedere Kane's Never felt as good and Adam Rickitt's Make me believe in love. Now's the time for a comeback post as Spencer is releasing a brand new single produced by Pete Hammond, The quest for pop (it's what I love), with remixes by Matt Pop, and a forthcoming new album is on its way too and it will include another Jason Donovan S/A/W cover (Change your mind) as well as the Giorgio Moroder/Phil Oakey song Together in electric dreams ! Take a listen (and a look) at this new PWL tribute (Spencer travel thru time & PWL Studios and you can recognise tribute scenes from Kylie or Jason videos) and you can try to recognize the 80's popstars featured as cartoon characters... I LIKE IT !

Peter Wilson's forthcoming third album keeps bringing PWL memories back to our ears :)

After Follow me in 2007 and Stereo last year, aussie boy and Stock Aitken & Waterman fan, singer, songwriter & producer Peter Wilson will release his third album on July 9th and from the sample video below, it still sounds in the same retro hi-NRG dance/pop as its previous offerings, not a thing that I will ever complain for...
The album is called Laser Light and features new production work by ex PWL partners Pete Hammond, Dave Ford & Ian Curnow along S/A/W inspired Matt Pop or Parralox's aussie man John Von Ahlen, with Peter Wilson's own T1 music partner Chris Richards. The tracklisting for the double CD looks particularly promising, including his previous fabulous & addictive single Broken man as well as the latest one Take me as I am and a full set of remixes and bonus tracks and I CAN'T WAIT !!!

CD1
Love overload
Take me as I am (by Dave Ford & Ian Curnow)
Love me like a machine
Broken man (by Pete Hammond)
When love is said and done
Without you
Laser light
Every little bit of my heart  (by Ian Curnow)
Endless road
Broken man (Pete Hammond "Lonely Hearts" mix)
Don't let me go
CD2
Love you more
Broken man (Matt Pop's full cry epic)
Take me as I am (Almighty dub)
Twenty four seven (Pete Hammond "London Bridge" mix)
Love me like a machine (Poison Beat remix)
Every little bit of my heart (extended version)
You better not fool around (Pete Hammond instrumental)

Kylie's back with brand new single TIMEBOMB !

The secret has been well kept. Rumours were going since Kylie was seen last month in Soho shooting a video but people didn't know if it could be for a  music single or an advert. The answer was given today as a brand new single, Time bomb, has been released on iTunes at the same time as its video. She appears very sexy in it, first in short jeans cut pants, then in a dress that shows more flesh than it covers...

Written by Karen Poole (Alisha's Attic) with producers Matt Schwartz (Deepest Blue) and Paul Harris (Dirty Vegas), Timebomb is an electro pop song that is as sexy as catchy but still sounds a little indie to me, I mean, it is not the standard instant dance/pop song you hear and you only get the chorus twice. In fact, it seems to me it is the pre-chorus you get one time more, with its "Whoop" little shouts that is intended to get us addicted to the song, and in fact, after hearing a couple of times now, I am !

Released three days ahead Kylie's birthday and her latest compilation (The Best Of Kylie Minogue) that's released next monday, Timebomb is hopefully the next step in her K25 year celebrating 25 years of career before the release of her new recordings (at Abbey Road studios) of old hits in acoustic / symphonic versions.

Until that, we've still got her latest Best Of to buy, although the tracklisting listed below doesn't included Timebomb nor any other unreleased bonus material, and mixes all her eras including some odd choices (#9, #18, #21) and forgetting favourites (2 Hearts, What Do I Have To Do, The One, Put Your Hands Up) as well as this brand new single to sing along (and I add the lyrics right here too).

1/ Can't Get You Out of My Head
2/ Spinning Around
3/ I Should Be So Lucky
4/ Love at First Sight
5/ In Your Eyes
6/ Kids
7/ Better the Devil You Know
8/ All the Lovers
9/ Give Me Just a Little More Time
10/ Celebration
11/ Slow
12/ Red Blooded Woman
13/ I Believe in You
14/ On a Night Like This
15/ Confide in Me
16/ Get Outta My Way
17/ The Loco-Motion
18/ Tears on My Pillow
19/ Wow
20/ In My Arms
21/ Never Too Late

TIMEBOMB

Fast, time is ticking now so fast

The sand is running quick right, through our hands
Beat, feel the rhythm in my heart beat
Why don’t you move your body, to my body
Before we disappear
Tell me now (Whooop)
Do you wanna, wanna (Whooop)
I wanna, wanna dance like it was the last dance of my life
I wanna (Whooop) Wanna, wanna, wanna (Whooop)
Do you wanna, wanna dance like it was the last dance

Wait, no please don’t make me wait
When walls are shaking ground feels, like it might break
It’s not the end of the world
It’s just the start of me and you, yeah
So let’s just take the moment, boy let’s move

Tell me now (
Whooop)
Do you wanna, wanna (Whooop)
I wanna, wanna dance like it was the last dance of my life
I wanna (Whooop) Wanna, wanna, wanna (Whooop)
Do you wanna, wanna dance like it was the last dance
We’re on a time bomb
It might not last long
So let’s just do it right now, do it come on
We’re on a time bomb
Before the night’s gone
Let’s just do it right now, do it come on, come on

Instrumental

Wait, please don’t make me wait
Wait, please don’t make me wait

Tell me now (
Whooop)
Do you wanna, wanna (Whooop)
I wanna, wanna dance like it was the last dance of my life
I wanna (Whooop) Wanna, wanna, wanna (Whooop)
Do you wanna, wanna dance like it was the last dance
We’re on a time bomb
It might not last long
So let’s just do it right now, do it come on
We’re on a time bomb
Before the night’s gone
Let’s just do it right now, do it come on, come on

Another Diva's gone in 2012 : Donna Summer R.I.P.

2012 looks like a sad year in our world of divas... After Whitney Houston previously, now is time for Donna Summer to leave us.
Today the Queen of Disco has died, at the very young age of 63, from Cancer. Life is a bitch for sure !
Although Donna Summer has been very quiet the latter years, she will always be remembered for her collaboration with Giorgio Moroder and her disco hits from the 70's, Love to love you baby, I feel love, Could it be magic, Love's unkind, Hot stuff, Bad girls, Heaven knows, On the radio, Last dance, No more tears (enough is enough), as well as her comebacks through the 80's, first in 1983 with She works hard for the money,
then in 1987 with Dinner with Gerschwin & All systems go, but she will always be cherished in my memory for her 1989 whole album with Stock Aitken & Waterman, Another place and time, which sent her back in the top of the charts with This time I know it's for real, I don't wanna get hurt and the wonderful Love's about to change my heart. Mike Stock said about her she was the most talented female vocalist he had ever worked with...
In the 90's, she recorded another album Mistaken identity in 1991 but then focused on one/off singles, like Carry on back with Giorgio Moroder or Melody of love (wanna be loved) with Clivillés & Cole & David Morales, then I will go with you (Con te partiro) and other dance singles for clubs but the last goods we heard from her was her 2008 full length CD Crayons, and it's a shame her recording career hasn't given us more music lately. Now it is the end, although I hope some recordings in the vaults are just waiting to be released.
Donna Summer may be dead but the Queen Of Disco will live forever in our CD/MP3players !

a new RedOne production ...I smell a big success should follow!

watch below the video for RedOne's latest produced artist, siblings trio Talkback. Their single Laugh laugh sounds fun, shouty, rock & pop all together and even though there are more guitars in the mix than my usual cup of tea, I've been addicted to it from the first watch... now if that isn't the sign of a future hit in the making...

The Wanted breaks in the States

After One Direction's big breakthrough (#1 entry) in the US charts with their first album last week, soon is gonna be The Wanted's own little time of fame when their first US proper release, an eponyme 8 tracks EP including 4 of their previous singles, 3 new recordings and a song from Battleground remixed, will enter the charts on the 24th of April.

You will find below its complete tracklisting and I find it strange to finally see their StarGate produced collaboration song with Rihanna Jealousy appear without her featuring ; apparently the final mix didn't work with her vocals but the barbadian star gave them the song to be released solo...

01
All Time Low
02 Chasing the Sun
03 Glad You Came
04 Gold Forever
05 Invincible (feat. Dappy)
06 Jealousy
07 The Same Page
08 Lose My Mind

The other new tracks, The same page and Chasing the sun, are other "big names" collaboration works (Ryan Tedder for the first one, and british rapper Example for the latter), and I wonder which of these new tunes will be their next US single.

Another tentative tracklisting extends the EP to 10 songs by adding their latest UK single Warzone and their Diane Warren penned Rocket to the first 8. I hope this extended version will be the one released as I will doubtlessly buy this new CD on import asap, and even though I already own more than half the songs, this will make it look like a Greatest hits package. It is so good to see their fabulous UK "flop" single Lose my mind be included there, as well as Invincible, which I think should be their next single, remixed with a featuring rap by UK Dappy though.

Final thought : doesn't it look like from the cover image that Max George stands as the leader of the band for the US public eye ? I really hope the band's egos are okay with this cos I wouldn't want to see the boys part because of Max always being put so more in the limelights than the 4 others because of his look and recognizable voice...

Y.S.A. Y.S.A! F.E.R.R.E.R
Y.S.A. Y.S.A! F.E.R.R.E.R

Double hook, crazy eight,
Double nine, double take
Y.S.A. Y.S.A. F.E.R.R.E.R
Pom Pom Girl, Pom Pom Girl

Sinon, j'espère qu'au tracklisting figureront Wouldn't change a thing avec les obligatoires I should be so lucky et Better the devil you know pour la période Hit Factory, et I believe in you, On a night like this, In your eyes, The one, In my arms, All the lovers et Get outta my way que j'entendrai assez bien orchestrés ainsi, avec les obligés Confide in me et Can't get you out of my head.

Madonna's new single "Give me all your love" !

Here's a preview for Madonna's forthcoming single produced by Martin Solveig, Give me all your love. It does indeed sound a bit like the best songs that were on his latest album Smash! Enjoy !

Mon chagrin
Mon destin
S'enroule

Christmas' rush : too many albums releases to buy... !

I know the key moment in the year for the music market is the end of the year, from mid-Octobber to mid-December, so that the new CD album that is released can be bought for Christmas as a gift, but this year, there have been weeks or month without any album to be release I wanted to buy but right now and until the next few coming weeks, there are just too many ! I can't afford to buy them all as they get released ! And that is a shame... I'll have to choose which ones I want more than the others and I guess the losers will get bought at mid-prices or at eBay next year when the market will be dead again.
Just to share these deadlines with you, let's list them all :

first, those already available :
David Guetta Nothing but the beat (for this one, I'm waiting for the deluxe platinum re-edition #9, when the CD2 will be full of good dance/pop songs and not an instrumental electro bore...)
Melanie C The sea (waiting for a french release to see if it's better than the UK one or the german edition)
Darren Hayes Secret codes & battleships (I pre-ordered the 2CD edition and has just received the Amazon dispatch mail!)
Matt Cradle Letters (from the snippets I heard, I think I'll wait for January UK garbage sales to buy this one, too pop/rock for me for now on...)
Aqua Megalomania (waiting for a french release to buy it at my local store but may have to buy it on import via internet?)
Joe Jonas Fastlife (I have just received my CD so a full review may come soon...)
Steps The Ultimate collection (I have received my CD+DVD edition : I couldn't do without ! even though the package looks poor : errors in songwriters credits and very poor booklet : I wish it could have been released via Cherry Red Records !)
Nicola Roberts Cinderella's eyes (this one has yet to grab me... I hated Beat of my drum but like Lucky day... I think all depends on third single now!)
Le Kid Oh Alright! (I'm just waiting to find it at a nice price on the net to buy me this fabulous swedish only release!)

24/10 Releases :
Kelly Clarkson Stronger (I might pass on that one, she's always been too rock for me, unless previews make me change my mind)
Adam & Eve : the Musical (I'll wait for the re-release with all songs, like your usual Musical albums...)
Corneille Les inséparables (even though I like the electro/soul first single Le jour après la fin du monde, I'll wait till next single unless previews confirm this new dancier direction in Corneille's music)
Jeremy Amelin (his first album was said to be released, digitally only maybe : I'll have to check it even though his lates single Undone was bad...)

31/10 Releases :
Self Concept (finally, Michal releases his album under his new moniker : I'll buy it online for sure even though I bought his EP digitally already which means I already own half the songs... !)

07/11 Releases :

The Wanted Battleground (I'd definitely buy it on pre-order : I'm just waiting to fix which edition is available ; I'll choose the one with extra tracks!)
Inna Modja (I've liked French cancan and even more her new Les filles du Lido so I'll check the previews and may buy it from my local store between the fruits and water)

14/11 Releases :
JLS Jukebox (I'll sure buy it as I did for their two fuirst albums)
Parade (I like this new girlsband but may wait to find it on eBay...)
Pixie Lott Young Foolish Happy (I think I'll wait a little but sure will buy her second CD like I did for her first.)

21/11 Releases :
The Saturdays On your radar (I'll pre-order this one with the Wanted's one, as sure as 1+1=2 !)
Rihanna Talk that talk (A new Rihanna already? I'll listen to it first... she's startin' to really bore me...)
One Direction (Even though their first single was fine, I'll wait for January sales for it!)
Christophe Willem Prismophonic (I have already pre-ordered my deluxe edition on Christophe's shop-on-line)
Lorie Regarde-moi (I'll sure buy it asap !)
Chimène Badi Gospel & Soul (I'll wait on this one, not pleased with most of the chosen songs...)

28/11 Releases :
Amel Bent Délit mineur (not the one I'll buy asap but I may buy it before Christmas... depends on what's on my shoppping list)
O'Chi Brown remastered edition of her 80's first album with Stock Aitken & Waterman (I'll sure buy it on pre-order very soon !)
Olly Murs In case you didn't know (I'll check it before buying it in January maybe)
Eric Saade Saade vol. 2 (I'll buy it via cdon.com for sure, like I did with vol. 1 not that long ago)
Nolwenn Leroy Deluxed edition of her previous celtic album (even though I like her take on Moonlight shadow, I very doubt I'd buy it unless I find it at a VERY nice price)

Other forthcoming releases :
Matthew Raymond Barker (November but not a date... I hope it'll be released very soon though!)
David Morales Resurrection (I don't know when... but I'll buy it with eyes closed)
Taio Cruz
Kate Ryan Electroshock (apparently re-scheduled for a 2012 release...)
Charice Infinity (I want this CD, but wait for a better release than the japanese import...)
Leona Lewis Glassheart (scheduled for a 26/03/2012 release now, after Collide didn't live to their expectations...)
